Now at Training Space we’ve decided to give you even less to think about at the gym. We’ve taken all the responsibility from your hands as not only have we planned some extravagant workouts but we also have some pretty intoxicating sounds at hand for you to flex your muscles to.
We aren’t disilluioned, we agree that our workouts are taxing but they’re also magic. Yup that’s right – magic. If you’re looking for an ass-kicking, metabolism-revving, full sexy body workout then you’ve come to the right place.
Ok so maybe our workouts are hard, but it’ll be worth it we promise! Our playlists have been chosen specifically to get heartbeats racing, energy flowing and motivation high! Every class is different – with a playlist to match, so you’re never going to get bored.
Numerous studies have taken place to highlight that music can improve athletic performance levels by up to 15 percent, and we want the best from you so of course we have tried to capitalise from this statistic.
Now there’s a fine art when selecting workout music. Whilst faster music is more motivational than slower tempo music, too fast is also no good. Music that contains 120-140 beats per minute (bpm) have an optimal effect, and this is therefore the sweet spot we focus on.
The rhythm of music stimulates areas in your brain (further explained in a 1997 review for all those interested) that will aid you during self-paced exercises such as weightifting. However the long and short of it, is that music provides a great distraction *Mindblowing revelation*, from pain and fatigue. It allows you to shift the focus away from your heart hammering in your chest or your limbs starting to fail on you, and to instead push your body to maximal capacity.
